How to Get Started

It's never too early (or late) to improve your child's educational experience — from kindergarten through high school. Getting started with Open Enrollment is simple. Open Enrollment is available for students in Douglas and Sarpy counties. School districts give priority to students who contribute to socioeconomic diversity or with siblings attending the same school during the school year for which Open Enrollment is requested.

Families in the Learning Community are free to consider any of the 11 public school districts in Douglas and Sarpy counties. We welcome your interest in Open Enrollment. Please apply to more than one school.

How do school districts make decisions?

Students may be accepted into any Learning Community school with available space. Priority is given first to students who have a sibling who will remain in the same school for the upcoming school year and then to students who contribute to socioeconomic diversity.
